IP Asset Royalties

All IP assets on Story are automatically created with an associated royalty vault. Creators can claim royalties from these vaults in the form of revenue tokens, which are credited in a number of ways. Most commonly, IP assets will generate royalties through licensing and fees. These licenses allow the re-use of IP by signing an on-chain agreement to pay the original creator royalties (and an optional up-front fee). Not all creators will have licenses with terms for paid re-use, as it may limit their ability to distribute their IP more broadly. Therefore, Story needs products that can monetize IP in other ways to create a sustainable mechanism for royalty generation without the explicit need for licenses.
